This will be a short post because I'm still recovering from the last few weeks. I am now working 3 jobs and have very little free time. Well, I did. The place that I work is changing things around and yesterday was the last day as a fast food place, it's now all Florences Chocolates! I'm pretty excited because my job will get a million times easier and I won't have to work nights any more. I also play in the Idaho Falls Symphony and work a little bit for my sister doing cleaning stuff. So anyways, I'm glad that my 12 hours workdays will stop for awhile.
The concert last night was amazing! We played Mendelssohn's Hebrides Overture (which I'd never heard before but loved it instantly), Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto #2 (with a guest artist who plays amazingly), and Brahm's Symphony #2. It was a huge concert that took a lot of preparation and concentration, but it was all worth it. No one played perfect, but I think overall we all felt good about it. After the Rachmaninoff, the guest artist played an encore piece. It's aparently well known by everyone but me, but I loved it. It just made me feel at peace with everything. I forgot what was going on with everything else in my life and was able to just appreciate beautiful music. This isn't who played with us, but it's the same arrangement. It's Bach "Sheep May Safely Graze". Hope it makes your day a little bit brighter!

Seriously lovely! I've never heard it but now I want that music! Thanks Abby! Congrats on less weird work hours!
I loved your concert. And that pianist was amazing. I think he played the Boch piece better. The best I've ever heard, but this was also very good. That's one of my favorite pieces. Thanks for sharing your music with me!
Bach, not Boch. {{sheesh}}
I agree, I think he played it better too!
I wish I could have made it! What a wonderful opportunity you have to play with them. This has always been a favorite piece of mine. Thanks for posting it! It did make my day a little bit sweeter.
I think I've played it as a flute duet. Lovely.
I'm always loved that piece. I thought it was the perfect contrast to the Rachmaninoff.
