More Work Stories

Next week will be my last week at work!  So I thought I should share another story about the people I have gotten to know while working here.

A few weeks ago I had a man come in to buy a $45 box of chocolates.  He comes in about once a month so I recognized him, although I never learned his name.  As he was paying, he told me this: "I started a bad tradition..." I hear this a lot!  Especially around Christmas.  People will buy their kids chocolates for holidays and the next year, their kids will keep asking for the chocolates and be very disappointed if they don't get them!  So I told him that I hear that a lot.  So he told me "I started buying these chocolates for my mother, who I thought was going to die any day.  That was 30 years ago.  She turns 100 next week!"  I was laughing so hard!  I told him the chocolates were probably keeping her alive!  So lesson learned, if you want to live to 100, just eat lots of chocolate!
