May

I've stopped doing my weekly quarantine posts because we've been (very slightly) widening our safe zone.  We go to my parents house and hang out with cousins every once in awhile and sometimes I'll let Asher come with me inside the gas station or his school.  Someday things will get back to normal!  We aren't able to do a lot of the things we normally do in the summer like swim lessons or sports or summer movies, but we're doing our best to still have fun!  My mom has a pool set up in her yard and we all go over and have pool parties which wears everyone out very well!  My family has also talked about having a rotating movie party in place of the summer movie program the school does.  And I had Asher help me make a list of everything he wanted to do this summer.  The list includes: go to the lava fields, go to the cow farm, do some coloring, go see the Falls (that the city is named after), and play Old Maid.  It's a pretty varied list and we try to knock off a few things each week!

I don't remember where this box came from, but it was the favorite toy for a long time until I finally took it to the recycling bin.  All 3 kids had fun playing in it!
They all love each other.  And hate each other.  And are basically just siblings.

Asher learned to ride his bike!  It took him awhile to get to this point.  Bike riding did not come naturally to him.  He had a really hard time with the training wheels but did excellent on his balance bike.  He didn't want to learn to ride this bike because he loved his balance bike so much.  But after a lot of coercing and encouragement we got him riding!  It actually didn't take that long before he got the hang of it and now loves to ride!  I may have teared up a little because of how proud I was that he did this thing that was so hard for him.

Movie night!  We watched Sonic and Asher was able to tell me the entire history of Sonic and the names of the characters before it even started.  Asher begged me to set up the air mattress, so I did.  Movie night is less about watching the movie and more about jumping on the air mattress and eating popcorn.  But they have fun so it's all good.

Watching Dad and Asher ride bikes.

The obvious bedtime accessory.

I like her curly, messy, crazy hair.  It fits her personality!

This child....

Fire pit party at Grandma and Grandpa's!  Ava really wanted to help Clara go down the slide.  They're about 2 months apart in age and they all have fun together!

All the kids had red mouths because of the juice.

I thought once Asher moved to his regular bike that Ava would want to learn to ride the balance bike, but it was Mia that really took to it!  Ava hasn't acted interested in it at all.  Also, those girls wear backpacks about 75% of the time they walk out of the house.

The end of May brought us...a snowstorm! My girl ran out there in their pajamas before I could get them back inside and change them into snow gear.  Asher said he didn't want to leave the house until all the snow was gone.  The very next weekend it was 90 degrees outside!  Idaho has crazy weather.

We got a good 2 inches at least.

Memorial Day we went to my grandparents grave.  Asher wanted to bring flowers so we took the flowers that were on our kitchen table.  Asher said to make sure and get the yellow ones because "Grandma Fay likes gold things and also things that are fancy because she's a fancy lady!"  I was shocked he remembered that, but I guess he was paying attention when we were doing the Goosechase about her!  When we were getting in the car to go to the cemetery I found out one of the kids had left a light on inside and the battery was dead.  While we were charging the battery (which took an hour of hooking it up to David's car and using a portable charger from our neighbor) the kids went around picking all the dandelions in our yard and putting them in the bouquet of flowers.  I think Grandma Fay loved it. ;)

Mia doesn't often fall asleep during the day, but when she does it's always in this position in this spot.

Pool party!  Good thing they have puddle jumpers in the kiddie pool. ;)

These two LOOOOVE going swimming and will stay in the water until their lips are blue.

Cute little boy!

She thinks swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's is amazing!

I was surprised she stayed in the water as long as she did.  She likes swimming okay, but this day she stayed in almost as long as Ava!

They like to party with their cousins.

Cuddling with Grandma before we go home.

Ava loves this cat and always asks where it is when we get to my parents house.

I set up our little pool one day.  It was freezing water and a hot day, so I think they had fun!  I like that Asher and Mia are making the same face.

I was trying to get a picture of her cute, fluffy, curly ponytail but instead got a picture of her cute little face!
And here are some videos:

I really hope that this summer we can do some normal things like go back to church and go camping but if not we'll just make the best of it that we can!

I love the idea of an air mattress for movie parties, we'll have to try that! And I'm going to post a discussion today about the weekly movie party, I think that will be fun. I love the pictures of our girls together! I really hope they grow up to be buddies. :)

Such cute kiddos. I love how they laugh and play together. Those girls idolize their big brother so much. He's so good with them. I love your family!
