Stories

I remember when having a blog used to be the big thing!  When someone got married, everyone would ask them if they had their new married person blog set up yet and when they did to be sure to put a link to it so everyone could keep up with their lives!  But that time is gone.  Most people don't use blogs anymore because there are many other ways of sharing your life, such as Facebook, Instagram, etc.  But I really miss the blogs.

The reason I want blogs back is mainly for the stories!  It seems like on the other social media sites, all you get is a snapshot into someone's life.  Just the highlights.  Don't get me wrong, I love seeing those snapshots!  I love seeing the random pictures of something little that happened that day or a little thought you've had that you wanted to share, but you don't get to hear many stories about life anymore.  I miss being able to take a look through different eyes, to see how other people think and react.  I can understand that some people want to keep things private, that they don't want to share those personal moments, and that's just fine!  But I love to see how other people deal with frustration and happiness and I especially love to hear about growing moments.  When you have something happen that helps you grow as a person.  When I read those stories, it helps me want to be better myself.

I know life is busy, and it's hard to set aside an hour or so to compile a whole list of things to put on your blog.  But maybe once in awhile, write down something you're thankful for.  Or something that made you smile.  Sometimes when I write a post, I realize all the good things I have in my life.  I also realize some of the bad things in my life.  But when I write, it gives me an opportunity to take stock of what is going on and I can really see what I need to do to make my life better.  It doesn't happen every time, but often enough that I keep writing my posts!  I'm not the most consistent writer, but I have made it a goal to keep things on here updated enough.  So, for those few who actually still check this, take a second and think of me (if nothing else)!  Give me something to read!  Give me some entertainment!  And I'll try to give you a little back in return.

I know, I know! I really want to get back into blogging. I was actually thinking about this exact same thing the other day, how much better blogs are for the perspective and stories. You have officially inspired me. I'll start writing in my blog again. Tomorrow. . .

I concur. :)

I've actually been thinking about it also. I've still got a few stories left in me, I think.
