Well, we made it through another week. I'll go through what I remember, but it's getting harder and harder to remember what happened each day. This week Asher started schoolwork and David's classes were open to his students. So I spend the middle part of each day trying to get Mia and Ava to leave Asher alone while directing Asher in what he needs to do, and David has to be available for his students if they need anything which means he spends it on his computer just looking at his emails and watching YouTube videos. David hardly has any students email him (which I guess means he set up his class online well!) so he gets kind of bored.
Pushing Asher through his schoolwork has been a bit of a struggle, but I think we're figuring it out. I've realized that if I give him a candy reward after each thing he has to do, it keeps him happy enough that he'll keep working. Probably not super healthy, but it works for us. We also take a lot of breaks. Asher hasn't been doing any Zoom classes which seems like a lot of other school are. Every Monday we have to go to his school, pick up a homework packet, and return the previous weeks packet. It makes me feel bad for his teacher because she has to grade an entire weeks worth of packets as well as prepare an entire weeks worth of homework. Asher's teacher is also pregnant and due to have her baby any day, so at some point this will all get handed over to a substitute. Nice timing, huh? But we'll keep figuring things out.
Also, we had another super exciting Monday. Mondays are apparently just not our day. In the afternoon Asher and Ava were spinning each other around the living room and Ava fell to the ground. She landed on her chin and we have hardwood floors. She started crying pretty hard and when I went to see what the damage was I saw a lot of blood. I had Asher run to get me a paper towel and then sent him to go get David because I was pretty sure she'd need stitches. So we quickly packed everyone in the car and I sat in the back holding the paper towel up to Ava's chin while David drove us to the Urgent Care. David took her inside and I drove around with the other two in the car (I didn't want to take them inside). Honestly, Ava only cried for a few minutes and then she was fine, even with a bunch of blood dripping off her chin. David told me that she was just fine with the doctor. And then they laid her back on the table and before the doctor did anything, she fell asleep. She slept through the numbing shot and the 3 stitches they put in! The doctor said he wished all kids would sleep through that! So she has been fine with everything and only tells me her chin hurts when she wants sympathy.
We also had Easter! It was a very relaxed holiday. The kids ate a ton of candy, we had an Easter Egg Hunt in our backyard which the kids all loved, and after dinner I got on Zoom with my family and all the cousins got to see each other and talk for a little bit. It was crazy because most of them are under 8 years old, but it was fun to see everyone!
That pretty much summarizes our week. Here's to surviving another one!
| Mia is so flexible. She often puts her legs behind her head. I might have to put her in gymnastics or something. |
| After we got home from the doctor! 3 stitches aren't going to slow this girl down! |
| They were reading this book together and I thought it was adorable. |
| Mia and Ava are super helpful. They always are up in Asher's business. This particular day was kind of cute because they were repeating all the math problems that Asher was working on. |
| Easter picture! |
| My kids have problems all smiling normal at the same time. |
| Most of the pictures I take of them together look like this. |
| Or this. |
| Easter Egg Hunt! |
| These two had so much fun! Asher was running around the yard too fast so I didn't get a picture of him. But they all had fun and that's all I wanted! |

Poor Ava! Lexi had the same thing happen to her a few years ago on our wood floor. I find it weird she still has faint scars where the hook went in to stitch it. So there are little dots above and below the actual scar.
