So Much Stuff!

It was an insanely busy week so let's get started!  Last Friday Ava lost another tooth.  So now she has no front teeth and has yes another one loose!  I keep telling her I'm going to have to start blending all her food up because she's not going to have teeth to eat with!  Mia also has a loose tooth.  This is really testing my Tooth Fairy abilities...

Losing all the teeth!

She's still pretty cute, even with no teeth. ;)

Monday was finally warm enough that the kids could play water games outside after school and not freeze to death.  They had a lot of fun with these water squirters I got at the dollar store and played a game with them for almost an hour while I did some yard work.

Tuesday I went with the girls on their field trip to the Artitorium.  It has all sorts of art projects you can, legos, a small slide, computers to do little projects on, and a green screen (which was definitely Ava's favorite!)  It was so fun to see them run around with their friends.  I did a few projects with Mia and Ava was running around so much I could barely keep track of her!

I think this was Mia's favorite part!

After school I quickly ran Asher over to a friends house to play for the afternoon and then took the girls to their annual check-up.  Mia was 97th percentile for weight and height and Ava was around 40th for weight and 80th for height.  Mia is actually about 2 inches taller than Ava.  Both girls are doing well and are healthy, although I did have a concern about Ava.

When the girls were babies they had a few health concerns that I had to get checked out, especially Ava.  I try not to remember dragging a 4 year old and twin babies to all those doctor appointments by myself.  Ava has a birthmark on the back of her head that we had to have a dermatologist look at because the placement of it made the doctor think it may have been part of her spinal cord coming through the skull but it ended up just being a birthmark, both girls had weird shaped heads but Ava's was bad enough that they thought her skull bones were fusing too early and we had to get a CT scan done right after she turned one, and she also has had a bump on her arm since she was born.  When she was about 6 months old I had to take her to get an ultrasound done on the bump and they determined it was lymphatic tissue.  And I had to look that up like 5 times before I understood what that meant.  From what I understand it's just tissue that isn't draining properly.  They said it wasn't a big deal and to just keep an eye on it.  I've felt like in the last few months it's gotten bigger so I brought that up at the appointment.  He said since it's been so long since she had the ultrasound and it may be getting bigger, we'll do another ultrasound on it just to make sure everything is okay.  So I have to schedule that appointment at some point.

So anyways, after that appointment we picked Asher up from his friends house, ate a quick dinner, and went to David's end of the year concert!  I usually don't go to David's concerts, but he really wanted us to go to this one so we did!  The kids were pretty good even though it went past their bedtime.  And I think they really enjoyed seeing David up there leading the group.  Asher snuck this picture while they were changing orchestras:

After the concert we went home and the kids were ready for bed.  I'm pretty consistent with bedtime and unless it's a holiday they don't stay up late.  All the running around all day really took it's toll on Ava, who does not do well when she's tired.  This is how she brushed her teeth that night:

On Wednesday I went on another field trip!  All of the 4th graders in the district got to go to Rendezvous!  It was to give all the kids an idea of what life was like for the early settlers in Idaho.  Asher loved panning for gold (BB gun pellets) and candle making.  He did not love pioneer games (potato sack race, stick pull, etc) and especially square dancing, which he did for about 3 minutes and then sat down and refused to participate any more.  (Part of his dislike was genuine, but part of it was both those things were right before lunch so he was hungry and he also didn't get as much sleep the night before so he was a little tired)  Some of the other things they had were a leather making station where they all decorated a leather bracelet, a star lab where they learned about constellations, and they all made something in class to trade at lunchtime!  Asher's class made pens wrapped in twine and had a feather at the top.  Some other classes made pouches (which is what Asher traded for), gecko's made from beads, scarves made from yarn, and one girl was apparently trading gossip.  Overall I think Asher had a really fun time and I'm glad I got to spend the day with him!  Even if I was totally exhausted afterwards.

My first time riding a school bus since high school!

Candle making.

He did do a couple races!  And then decided it wasn't for him.

Stick pull

Panning for gold!  He said this was his most favorite.

It was pretty fun!

Wednesday evening and Thursday I pretty much spent the whole time cleaning and doing laundry.  I didn't do hardly any housework all week...and you could tell...so now the house is pretty clean but I have a mountain of laundry to fold.  I put all the laundry on the bed so I would remember to fold it, which Millie did not appreciate.  She loves laying on our bed and stared at the pile of laundry for a full minute, very confused about where she was going to lay!

She squished onto the one corner where there wasn't clothes.

This next week is also going to be crazy.  Tomorrow is the extended family May birthday party and next week David gets his tonsils out, Kindergarten graduation, and the last day of school!

May was totally crazy for us as well. This was probably our busiest May so far. I'm looking forward to having a bit more time, but I'm sure in a few weeks I'll be ready for everyone to go back to school!
