With today being Mothers Day, I thought it would be an excellent time to write a post about my mother. I know this may be a little cliche', but I am pretty sure I have the best mother around! My mom has been there for me through everything. She was there to hear all my silly problems when I was in Middle School, there through all the drama that comes from being in high school, and now she's there to help me with all my homemaking problems. I've learned so much from her. I saw her work hard at various jobs so that our family could make it through the thin times. She taught me piano and was very patient when she knew I didn't practice... Any kind of craft you can think of, she is probably amazing at it! Or at least could figure it out in no time. She taught me to crochet, to paint, to see with an artists eye, helped me with ceramics, taught me how to garden even when you have the most stubborn dirt on the planet. Almost every question I bring to her, she has some sort of answer no matter what the subject matter is. She is so persistent with her education. She has taught me how to love my education. Not just to take classes because that's what it takes to get a degree, but to take classes to learn! She's also taught me how to be willing to try new things. Like taking a bee keeping class, or buying some chickens, going sledding like a little kid (even if no one is watching because you sneaked off on your own), and tromping through graveyards! (not weird, but for family history!
Here's her blog if you want to read some interesting stories!)
Last November I got a chance to go on a trip with my mama. I'm so glad I had the chance to do that because now that I'm married I don't get a lot of chances to spend time with just me and her. We went to San Francisco with the school for a class. We went to all sorts of different museums and did so many fun things, I'm so glad I got to go on that trip and do things that we both love! I had so much fun and realize I probably won't be able to do stuff like that after David graduates and after we start having kids, but then I can just have new adventures with my mama! Me and her are so alike. She tends to understand me better than almost anyone else. She usually knows just what to say to make me feel better. She's always been that person I could rely on no matter what. I'm going to miss her a lot when we move next year. But I hope that she'll still want to come see us wherever we are because our door is always open!
I love you, Mama. Happy Mothers Day!

Thanks Abby. You're a pretty amazing daughter, too. I love having a buddy who understands the artsy side of things. And when David goes to grad school make him go to ISU and stay living in Rexburg. That's an order. :)
Ahh, how sweet! She is pretty much the best.
